Doctoral Candidate, Chemical Oceanography
MIT / WHOI Joint Program in Oceanography and Applied Ocean Engineering
Ms. Luk tackles the adverse impacts of a changing climate on our coastal ecosystems and communities. She previously studied how coastal water quality affects Buzzards Bay shellfishing, and currently studies the biogeochemistry of salt marshes to better understand carbon burial within this valuable blue carbon ecosystem.
Ms. Luk has led ~75 middle and high school students a mile into the muddy ecosystem of the Great Marshes to conduct citizen science on salt marsh carbon storage.
